Install Windows 7 M3 Theme on Vista

After Windows 7 M3 pre beta build has been released and was given to PDC attendees.The Windows 7 user interfaces

has been impressive a lot of Windows fans. Plus more, some of them also start to decorate their vista desktop theme as Windows 7 theme.

How to Install Windows 7 Theme for Vista Using VistaGlazz

1. Download VistaGlazz.

(VistaGlazz is a simple utility that allows you to patch the files on Windows Vista to allow custom themes installed)

2. Run VistaGlazz from where you’ve downloaded. VistaGlazz gives you this dialog. Click the “I agree” button. Now click on first icon in the next screen:

3. VistaGlazz will display this dialog. By default, VistaGlazz displays the first icon (“Patch Style” button, the one with the monitor) without the green tick mark like this,

4. Click on the icon. VistaGlazz will patch your system files and when done will ask you to restart the computer. Let it restart your computer.

5. Once the computer restarts and comes back up and running, run VistaGlazz again. This time you’ll see the “Patch Style” button having a green tick mark. Then you can start copy the downloaded theme folder (containing a .theme file and a folder containing .msstyles file) to “%windir%\Resources\Themes\” folder.

6. Now right-click on Desktop and select “Personalize“. Click on “Theme” link in the new window and select the downloaded theme from drop-down list.

Congratulations! you’ve successfully patched your Windows Vista installation to allow custom themes.
